Teen Yoga Foundation

The Teen Yoga Foundation works to empower young people by introducing them to yoga. We have had a busy year, supporting the teen yoga community and working on new specific approaches to yoga for different groups of young people, such as disadvantaged young women, and young people in situations of substance abuse. We helped young people affected by the attack in Manchester by setting up specific classes in schools around the city. We also introduced teen yoga in Abu Dhabi, Australia and Sierra Leone, where we focused on yoga for traumatised kids and young people, preparing yoga teachers to work in orphanages to help the young people with their physical and mental self-care.

Teen Yoga Foundation relies completely on donations and funding to carry out its work, all the profits from our training courses go to support the work of the charity. We are always looking for collaborators and sponsors to work with us to support our different initiatives. Come and talk to us at the World Yoga Festival!

Every year we invite experts from India and other countries to share their recent research in the field of young people education and yoga for our Instill conference which is in November in London. We also bring together funding bodies such as Sport England and others interested in funding research at this event.

Most recently, we have been participating in the initiative to bring yoga in to the NHS and the schools curriculum. We spoke just last week at the House of Lords about how best to bring yoga to young people in the UK, at an event attended by universities, yoga organisations and parliament. Responses were very positive and we look forward to taking this work further.

The work of our charity is driven very much by the support of our sponsors and volunteers. We are always looking for new ways to bring the transformative power of yoga into the lives of young people (what better way to transform the world!). Please join us for a chat at our stall at the festival!
