Urmila Jetani

Urmila Jetani is the co-founder and founding chef of Namaste Village, and the Director of the Namaste Village Cookery Class. Over the years, she has built something quite rare - a kitchen and a community where food is treated not as a transaction, but as a mindful and conscious cooking practice rooted in care, intention, and connection.
Her cooking is grounded in the Satvik tradition - an ancient, plant-based philosophy that places purity, balance, and mindfulness at the centre of every meal. She has had the honour of cooking for remarkable individuals including celebrities, spiritual masters, and thought leaders from around the world.
Through the Namaste Village Cookery Class, Urmila teaches students not just how to cook, but how to slow down, be present, and reconnect with what they put into their bodies - and why. Her approach to conscious cooking encourages a deeper awareness of ingredients, energy, and nourishment beyond the plate.
She is currently writing her first book - a project that will bring her knowledge, stories, and recipes to a much wider audience.
