Teresa Kay-Aba Kennedy
Teresa Kay-Aba Kennedy is a Harvard-trained strategist, master coach, yoga/meditation teacher, speaker/moderator and award-winning author. As President of Power Living Enterprises, Inc., she helps people thrive at work and in life by training executives and others integrating modalities such as coaching, mindfulness, positive psychology, yoga, integrative health and energy management. As former Vice President at MTV Networks and researcher at Harvard Business School, she blends real-world experience with the latest research on neuroscience, spirituality, leadership and human performance. Her mission is to raise the consciousness of the planet and create a more sustainable world by releasing the potential in individuals through transformative tools, inspirational content and high-frequency experiences®. Terri started playing with yoga at age four and then the practice saved her life when she almost died from Crohn’s Disease in 1997. She lives with vibrant health using a custom anti-inflammatory food and lifestyle protocol. In addition to certifications in Coaching and Holistic Health Counseling, Terri is certified in Hatha Yoga and Chair Yoga from Integral Yoga Institute and participated in one of the last Satsang gatherings with Sri Swami Satchidananda before he transitioned. She studied Raja Yoga meditation, Buddhist meditation, Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction, and World Religions. In 2002, she founded the Ta Yoga House, the first yoga studio in Harlem. She served six years on the Board of Yoga Alliance, including Interim CEO and Chair. Now, Terri travels the globe – from the Pentagon and United Nations to the World Government Summit in Dubai -- moderating “Conversation with a Master” events with the oldest yoga master in the world, 98-year-old Tao Porchon-Lynch. In 2011, they presented “The Gandhi Effect” program to a standing room only audience at the Newark Peace Education Summit, which headlined His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama. In January 2017, Tao and Terri were featured in the Athleta Power of She campaign for their inspiring work together. The book they co-authored, Dancing Light: The Spiritual Side of Being Through the Eyes of a Modern Yoga Master, has won 10 national and international awards. An Internet evangelist and “intrapreneur,” Terri founded VH1 Interactive and the VH1@Work radio network in the early 1990s. She has a world-class education – Wellesley College, Harvard Business School, Harvard Kennedy School of Government, Yale University Jackson Institute for Global Affairs and Lee Kuan Yew School of Public Policy in Singapore. Although she is American, she was born in Ghana, started school in Australia and studied design in Italy.
