Iyengar Yoga teacher (JI2)
Sophia has been practicing Iyengar yoga since 2006. She completed her teacher training at the Putney Iyengar Yoga Centre in London, qualifying in 2011. She sees yoga as a life practice that reaches far beyond our physical practice on the mat, studying yoga philosophy and practicing mantra as well as asana on a daily basis. Her teaching is sympathetic and positive, focusing on the individual needs of her students, encouraging them to gain a deeper understanding of alignment and how to work within each posture. She also brings her own experience and understanding of themes from yoga philosophy to her teaching where appropriate. She believes that to be a good teacher you must also be a good student, and therefore attends regular classes and workshops with senior teachers to continue her own training. Sophia teaches regular classes & workshops in Oxford, and an annual retreat in Greece.
